Sex and storytelling meet at this popular open mic event, which was hosted at the Kings Arms, Salford during its Manchester stint.

Smut Slam is created and hosted by award-winning playwright/performer, sex activist and educator Cameryn Moore – who relocated from Montreal to Manchester.

The Manchester Smut Slam typically takes a format of open mic features, including real-life first-person sex stories, guest stories from a panel of celebrity judges, and then readings from ‘The Fuckbucket’ – a container which collects anonymous questions and confessions throughout the evening.

Each evening takes a theme, which have in the past included ‘Firsts’ and ‘Epic Fail’. People who want to take part– aka potential ‘smut slammers’ – sign up in advance to tell a 5-minute dirty story to the audience, with eight to ten names drawn on the night.

This event is known for encouraging values of acceptance and openness – with celebrity guests in the past including the likes of Laura Morningstar and Dennis Queen. Sexy prizes are also up for grabs.

Stay updated with Cameryn’s website for details of upcoming Smut Slams, as the concept tours regularly.
