Flapjack Press
An independent publisher of performance poetry and poetry theatre from the North West, with titles available for both adults and children. This is a press committed to ‘exploring the synergy between the performance and the page’ and publishes some of the most cutting-edge poetic performers in the area.
Published poets include Rosie Garland, Dermot Glennon, Jackie Hagan, Kieren King, Henry Normal and many more.
Launch events and readings of author’s work is often organised through Flapjack Press and has included Henry Normal reading from his 2017 collection Raining Upwards at Manchester Central Library, and Gerry Potter launching his book Accidental Splendour of the Splash with special guests Zach Slater and Cathy Crabb.
Flapjack Press is behind a number of open mic and performance events in Manchester, including Word Central at the Central Library hosted by Tony Curry – which has seen a range of special guests take to the stage including Rebecca Audra Smith and Anna Percy.
In the North, Flapjack Press texts are stocked in HOME, Chorlton Bookshop and News from Nowhere in Liverpool, and further afield at The Poetry Library at Southbank Centre in London. Many are also available in E-book format.
