Waterstones Deansgate
The biggest bookshop in the North of England and centrally-located in Manchester, Waterstones Deansgate is spread across three floors and stocks over 80,000 titles.
Itlso boasts one of the biggest Science Fiction departments in the area and has the biggest literary events programme of any Waterstone’s outside of London including in-conversation sessions and book launches.
Literary groups and societies have also set up here including a La Belle Sauvage Reading Group.
Waterstones Deansgate has also hosted a number of visiting literary events such as Sunday Storytime sessions for children as part of Manchester Children’s Book Festival.
The building was formerly the site of Kendals department store electric and lighting department. Waterstones has occupied the space from 1987. It contains the 2nd View restaurant.
