Z-Arts

Z-arts

Z-arts is a creative space for young people, a venue and charity based on Stretford Road in Hulme, Manchester.

It was formed in 2000 to uphold values of participatory activity and creativity for young people – regularly holding events and workshops in its artistic hub which includes a 230-seat theatre, a music room, gallery, studios and a café.

Z-arts is a popular venue with children and families, and also works with schools and educational institutions.

An ongoing events programme includes theatre shows, family sessions and over 18 regular classes every week.

In the past events have included the production Beasty Baby, themed activities as part of Let’s Glo Social, ‘Verve’ – the postgraduate performance from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and Manchester After Hours – which included a range of poetry readings. A number of authors have spoken at Z-arts including Michael Rosen.
